"I'm slated for destiny & purpose is tracking me down."
--Shenette Howard

Multi-talented, creative, compassionate and driven – these are just a few of the many qualities that describe Shenette Howard, Miss Florida International 2006.  A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Shenette is a first generation college graduate.  She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling.

Shenette Howard is a polished motivational speaker who has traveled extensively throughout the United States, delivering her message of purpose and purity.  In her home state, she has presented before a number of government entities, such as:  Duval County Legislative Delegation, the Florida Department of Education.  She has likewise presented nationally before the United States House of Representatives and Senate, urging them to continue funding in abstinence education programs.

Shenette toured as a featured speaker with the 2006 and 2007 Great To Wait, Abstinence-Until-Marriage youth rallies throughout Florida.  She was subsequently invited to be a guest speaker at the 2006 National Abstinence Clearinghouse conference in Kansas City, Missouri and is a returning guest speaker for the Florida-based ChoicesYouth Rally.  Additionally, she was an outstanding spokesperson for the Illinois based Project Reality Speakers Bureau and the Jacksonville based Project SOS Speakers Bureau.

Shenette has enjoyed print, radio and television coverage.  She was featured in the Jacksonville, Florida-based NtoU Magazine in 2006 and 2007 and in the nationally-recognized Gospel Today Magazine in 2008.  Her story has also been published in A&M Partnership’s Quest Curriculum.  As a television personality, she landed the role of co-host for Real Girls Real Life, a reality television show which aired on the CW Network.  Shenette embraced the show because it offered a transparent view of the challenges faced by young ladies across America.  Shenette was a guest on NBC’s The Today Show in 2007, engaging in a panel discussion interview about why the abstinence message is vital to the livelihood of youth culture. Shenette was also one of three finalist in the 2011 Vanna White For A Day contest, in which she won an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles for the finalist taping.

While sharing and educating youth about making healthy lifestyle choices is her passion, Shenette is just as passionate about performing arts.  She is a dance choreographer who received a full performing arts scholarship in dance to Florida Community College.  She has participated in intensive dance programs at the University of Florida and the University of South Florida, and has opened up in dance for gospel greats such as CeCe Winans and Israel Houghton.  Shenette has traveled across the globe and completed a dance tour in Spain.

Shenette is an NFL cheerleader for the Jacksonville Jaguar ROAR.  Of her cheerleading experience, she is most proud of the opportunities given to be a change agent within the community and on her squad.  The ROAR is constantly called on by those within the community to provide moments of relief for children within the City of Jacksonville.

As the former Miss Florida International, Shenette has mentored and prepared current titleholders for competition, as well as serving as a guest judge for numerous pageants.  Her pageantry knowledge and experience frequently lends her opportunities to work as a pageantry coach or consultant.

An entrepreneur at heart, Shenette aspires to own a performing arts center for underprivileged youth, giving them a positive outlet to artistically express themselves.  She also seeks to host a well-syndicated news entertainment show or talk show, as she continues traveling and speaking to young people about positive choices.
Shenette possesses a natural gift for exhortation, and has embraced her calling to share her lifestyle of purity.  As a purity advocate, she has made a conscious decision to expose youth and young adults to the truth about sex, drugs, alcohol, and unhealthy relationships.  She teaches them that their lives are precious and that lust is the counterfeit of true love.
She challenges others to pursue their goals, acquire wisdom, and develop good character, for the betterment of themselves and of others.
